This stretch of Jones Falls is 6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Lake Roland to Round Falls section is one of them. There are nice comfortable hotels here, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Some people prefer whitewater     rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of spots for that. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch has has enough mileage, suitable for an afternoon trip. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Baltimore-Towson, as you can see on the road map further down. The average Maryland whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so better not forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners.
