The Maryland Route 147 to US Route 40 section of Little Gunpowder Falls in Harford/ Baltimore County is 6 miles long and is a class I-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. The rivers     for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often easier than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers in this state are less demanding. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Maryland Route 147 to US Route 40 section is one of them. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
