If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. This section of Little Seneca Creek in Montgomery County is 5.2 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be     a class II(III) section. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. There are some good hotels near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The Boyds to Darnestown stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. The nature scenery of Montgomery County and the cool fresh water beats anything. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at   a nearby campground. Briefly about the general area: Good hiking is available along the Meadow Trail, and Little Seneca Creek is a place with many visitors from Washington Grove. Don't leave Little Seneca Creek without first going for a hike along the Paw Paw Passage Trail. Seneca Creek State Park is a fine site to have a look at, and Glen Echo Park is one of the destinations that are glorious to visit nearby. Patuxent River State Park is a fine place. Little Seneca Creek gets a common amount of annual precipitation. May is the month that gets the most rain while February is generally the driest month.
