This stretch of Octoraro Creek is 6 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section.     The beautiful scenery of Cecil County and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of places for that. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. On this section you do get some distance, it's perfect for a one day trip. The campgrounds here at Octoraro Creek are pretty good. The New Bridge Road to Richardsmere section is one of a few paddling sections in this river   system. The starting location is a short drive from Lancaster, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Briefly about the general area: Elk Neck State Park is a great place to stop by on a lovely day; a great spot close by is Sleepy Hollow. A tour to Susquehanna State Park when you're here at Octoraro Creek is never a bad idea, and beaches are magnificent and Belcamp Beach is no exception. This river is always fun.
