Says Mike The Pleasantville Road to Maryland Route 7 section of Winters Run in Harford County is 13 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving,     so better not forget that a large number of rivers in this state are quite easy. The put-in is not too far from Baltimore-Towson, as you can see on the road map further down. The campgrounds here at Winters Run are pretty good. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camp stove too. The natural beauty of Harford County and the cool fresh water beats anything. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Pleasantville Road to Maryland Route 7 section is one of them. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. No matter   if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. No shortage of good hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Belcamp Beach is near Winters Run and is a wonderful beach to check out, and places like Rocks State Park are glorious to take a look at. Lots of people from Bel Air come to Winters Run, and Gunpowder Falls State Park is a perfect place to stretch your legs a bit. Coming to this river is always a good idea. Winters Run gets a common amount of rain. June is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest.
