The beautiful scenery of Garrett County and the sparkling of the sunlight     on the water will make you feel great. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your camping stuff. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. If you're coming from Morgantown it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, please print   out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Briefly about the general area: Youghiogheny River is not far at all from Oakland, and the slopes of Wisp are so inviting noone can resist. Youghiogheny River gets a common amount of annual precipitation. Most of the rain falls throughout July, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Through the long summer days at Youghiogheny River highs are frequently in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Youghiogheny River during the winter mostly sink into the 10's.
