The Close to Lowell section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. There are many good hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This section of Concord River in Massachusetts is 1.5 miles long and it is classified as a class III+(IV) section by American Whitewater. This is a bit   of a short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Briefly about the general area: When you're here at Concord River it's always fun to check out Lowell-Dracut-Tyngsboro State Forest, and Pawtucket Falls is a splendid local attraction. Great Brook Farm State Park is a splendid site to stretch your legs a bit; Concord River is a site with many visitors from Lowell. A river like this is too good to miss. A delightful beach near Concord River is Silver Lake Town Beach. For the period of the long summer days at Concord River temperatures are mostly in the 80's.
