You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. | |

awaits you at Berkshire East, and a journey to Mohawk Trail State Forest is a great idea. This is such a fun river. There are nice places to discover along the Spring Trail; going to Gardner State Park is a nice thing to
do. Don't leave Westfield River - North Branch without first going for a hike along the Dunbar Brook Trail. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Westfield River - North Branch.
