This is a premier kayak paddling rental livery service. They service the upper Autrain River exiting out to Lake Superior. They have 4-6 hour trips. This is a very intermediate paddling trip. This year 2018 they offer trips to the pictured rocks National Seashore. This section of Au Train River is 1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV+ section. The average Michigan whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding. This is a very short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the M94/Dam to below power house stretch is one of them. And of course, there are   campgrounds nearby. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. Briefly about the general area: Going for a hike on the Chatham Ski Trail is always a good adventure, and Au Train Falls is an inspiring place to take a look at while you're here. There is a fine hiking trail close to Au Train River called the Addis Lakes Ski Trail, and at Au Train River you always meet someone from Au Train.
