If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so better not forget that rivers in this state are less demanding. Briefly about the general area: Take a hike on the Holyoke Trail, and Carp   River is not far at all from Marquette. Very pretty scenery and pleasant skiing is what you get at Marquette. All through the warm days of summer at Carp River temperatures are usually in the 70's. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Carp River dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. From a rainfall point of view Carp River is a rather normal spot. The wettest month of the year is generally September, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February.
