A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Briefly about the general area: Head up to Marquette   and strap some skis to your feet; you'll meet a lot of people from Marquette here. If the weather is good here at Dead River, you can go for a hike along the Holyoke Trail. All through the long summer days here at Dead River, high temperatures typically reach the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Dead River. Dead River is a good place of normal precipitation. During September this area sees the most rain; February on the other hand is the driest.
