If you're coming from Marquette it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections in this state are safe for beginners. Briefly about the general area: Presque Isle Point is not far from Dead River at all; you're sure to stumble upon some good folks from Marquette here. A day on the slopes of Marquette is just what you
need. A common amount of rain falls here at Dead River. September is when you get the most rain here; the driest month is February. The warmest time of the year at Dead River comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and
the nighttime is rather colder of course, commonly in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Dead River dipping down into the 0's throughout winter nights.
