The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are     quite easy. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Phoenix to Eagle River Falls section is one of them. This stretch of Eagle River is 2.3 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV(V) section by American Whitewater. You might be into whitewater   rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are not so many other good places for that around here. Briefly about the general area: You might want to pay a visit to Eagle River Shoals since you're here at Eagle River; you'll perhaps meet some people from Mohawk here. Eagle River gets a normal amount of rainfall. The month with most of the snow is January, and April is when it's the driest. During the summertime at Eagle River highs are generally in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are generally in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Eagle River temperatures plunge to the 0's.
