The natural beauty of Keweenaw County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. quite easy. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you
| come because it is a very popular destination. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Phoenix to Eagle River Falls section is one of them. Briefly about the general area: You might want to pay a visit to Eagle River Shoals since you're here
at Eagle River; you'll perhaps meet some people from Mohawk here. Eagle River gets a normal amount of rainfall. The month with most of the snow is January, and April is when it's the driest. During the summertime at Eagle
River highs are generally in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are generally in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Eagle River temperatures plunge to the 0's.
