The land property surrounding White City Falls is now privately owned, along with the three islands in the middle of the river.
The road onto the property is also gated and locked. No trespaasing signs are posted and will be enforced. The owner must be called {813-205-0868} to enter the property. Violation will not be tolerated and police will be contacted. Says Anonymous

| so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. This section of Escanaba River - Middle Branch is 9.3 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV+ section by American Whitewater. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill | |

up quick. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. The natural beauty of Michigan and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to
come here and paddle. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
