This stretch of Ontonagon River is 23.1 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The average Michigan whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. Briefly about the general area: Ontonagon River is not far at all from Rockland. Go for a hike on
