The East Branch Road to Highway 45 section of Ontonagon River East Branch in Ontonagon County is 7.5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. The wonderful Michigan scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. experience. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have
| reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so don't forget that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy.
