  The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Lansing-East Lansing, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so don't forget that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular
    destination. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. The wonderful Ingham County scenery and the cool fresh water beats anything. Great exercise and a chance
to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here. The campgrounds here at Red Cedar River are pretty good. This section of Red Cedar River in Ingham County is 0.1 miles long and it is classified as a class I section by American Whitewater. The MSU Wave section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. This is a very short stretch so better bring some good walking shoes.

At Red Cedar River you always meet someone from East Lansing; a trip to Sleepy Hollow State Park when you're here is never a bad idea.
