The nature scenery of Michigan and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Briefly about the general area: Squaw Beach is in the vicinity of Yellow Dog River if you're in a beach type of mood, and you can go
for a hike on the Holyoke Trail. You'll meet a lot of people from Big Bay here. Yellow Dog River is a good spot of common rainfall. Through September this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least
amount of precipitation. During the summer months here at Yellow Dog River, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's.
