  The confluence of E and W Branches to Highway 61 stretch of Beaver River in Minnesota is 2 miles long and has been rated as a class IV-V+ section by American Whitewater. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more demanding, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. The wonderful Minnesota scenery and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come
    here to paddle. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. This is a bit of a short stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There's camping
available near Beaver River. If you're coming from Duluth it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. No shortage of good hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here.

for a hike along the North Shore Snowmobile Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. Lots of people from Beaver Bay come to Beaver River; don't leave without going to Tettegouche State Park. This is such a great river. Have a good hiking adventure along the Moosewalk Snowmobile Trail; a spree to Beaver River Falls will fill your spirit with splendid feelings. Split Rock Lighthouse State Park is a magnificent location to go if you're at Beaver River, and why not explore Beaver Bay also if you're here. The amount of precipitation that falls at Beaver River is close to the national average.
