The put-in location is a short drive from Duluth, as you can see on the road map further down. The natural beauty of St. Louis County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III-IV+(V) section. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to
| come. This stretch is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places.
