The beautiful scenery of Minnesota and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This section of Cascade River is 0.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class V+ section. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Cascades of Cascade section is just one of them. The campgrounds here at Cascade River are pretty good. This is an extremely short section so you'll have |
to walk back to the start over and over. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay
| the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Minnesota are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners.

Cascade River throughout the summertime months highs are in the 70's while overnight lows are typically in the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 10's, and after the sun is down through the winter
temperatures at Cascade River plunge into the-10's. Cascade River is a good site of typical rain. The month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while February is generally the driest month.
