  The wonderful Stearns County scenery and the playfulness of the water will make you feel great. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is
    available very near the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The campgrounds here at Mississippi River are pretty good. The starting location is a short drive from St. Cloud, please

This section of Mississippi River in Stearns County is 0.1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II(III) section. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here. There are no other stretches to paddle along Mississippi River than the Sauk Rapids stretch.

This is a popular location for people from Sartell, and Powder Ridge has perfect slopes and a friendly staff. Mississippi River is a good spot of typical precipitation. The wettest month of the year is commonly June, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. Through the summer months at Mississippi River highs are ordinarily in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 10's, and night lows through the wintertime for Mississippi River tend to be in the-10's.
