There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. The campgrounds here at Vermilion River are pretty good. This stretch   is mid length, it's perfect for a one day trip. Briefly about the general area: While you're here at Vermilion River you can take a hike along the Taconite Trail; while you're here, do take a visit to Wolf Bay. On a glorious day at Vermilion River you can take a hike along the Canfield Portage. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Vermilion River. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 10's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Vermilion River plunge into the-20's.
