The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Missouri are often more forgiving than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers in this state are less demanding. The put-in is not too far from Farmington, please print out a copy of the road map     further down the page so you won’t get lost. This section of Brewers Creek is 7 miles long and it is classified as a class III section by American Whitewater. The campgrounds here at Brewers Creek are pretty good. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. Whitewater paddling here in the Ozarks is a great experience. The Highway V to Highway MM stretch is one of a few paddling stretches   in this river system. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Elephant Rocks State Park is a good spot to go to on a wonderful day, and a wonderful spot to go to close by is Magee Hollow. And if that's not enough there's a lot more exciting things to do in the Ozarks. Taum Sauk Mountain State Park is both good and pretty, and it's in the vicinity of Brewers Creek, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Brewers Creek; Taum Sauk Trail is a fine local trail.
