Marble Creek is a non navigable waterway and is therefor off limits through private land. Bad information on the part of the D.N.R. and Conservation Department have led to such conflicts. But as I researched it I have found that Marble Creek and many other creeks that in flood stage can be floated are still not legal to float without the landowners permission. A friend of mine went to court on a trespassing charge while floating Marble Creek |
and was found guilty and had to pay a fine and is on probation. There are plenty of legal waterways to float in the area. Don't risk a run in with landowners protecting their rights. Says Jim
Serious landowner problems
| at the takeout have made this run essentially off limits, unless you are willing to paddle down to the St. Francis river and then upstream to the county road. Says Davej
We have a Bed and Breakfast Inn located 13 miles from Marble Creek. We serve hikers and floaters. We are happy to provide early breakfast as well. Says Margot Crowell
The wonderful Missouri scenery and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. | |

not forget that many runs in this state are very easy. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. This is
a pretty short section so no need to bring snacks. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.
