Missouri whitewater, North River

Marion county, Mo. County Road 530 to Highway 61 bridge section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I(II)     17 miles
This stretch of North River is 17 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I(II) section of whitewater. The beautiful scenery of Marion County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit
more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers in this state are less demanding. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. Since you're on this site
you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. If you're coming from Hannibal it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a
very popular destination.

Briefly about the general area:
