Missouri whitewater, Roaring River

Barry county, Roaring River State Park to Highway 86 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS I-II     5.8 miles

There are 2 barbed wire fences crossing this river. This is not cool. I don't understand how this can be when rivers are public. Says Liz Pritchard

Is there guided whitewater rafting in the park or close? mhn Says Mike

The Roaring River State Park to Highway 86 section of Roaring River in Barry County is 5.8 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive
from Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. The wonderful Missouri scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats
anything. The average Missouri whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be easier to run than those in other states, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less demanding. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem
but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. When you're paddling down a Ozarks river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The Roaring River State Park to Highway 86 section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one day trip.

Briefly about the general area:
Roaring River State Park is both magnificent and stunning, and it's next to Roaring River, and you're sure to bump into some good people from Eagle Rock here.
