The nature scenery of -blank- County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The put-in location is a short drive from Kalispell, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. American Whitewater. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular
| destination. Getting a good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. The Lewis Range scenery is wonderful. There are plenty of other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. Spring. This is a really good river. Good hiking is available along the Howe Lake Trail, and there's glorious hiking along the South Boundary Trail.
