Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. No matter if you're whitewater
rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Montana tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so don't forget that quite a few of the
sections in this state are pretty easy. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Bozeman, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This is a pretty short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. You
might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

Briefly about the general area:
Henrys Lake State Park is a good site to take a look at; don't leave Madison River without first going for a hike along the Lightning Creek Trail. Madison Side is a perfect site to check out while in the neighborhood, and there are good sites to look at along the Cutoff Trail. This river has it all. Madison Slide is in the vicinity of Madison River and is without doubt a splendid place to have a look at.
