The Madison Dam to Route 84 section of Madison River in Madison County is 10 miles long and has been rated as a class I-IV section by American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Montana are often easier than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers in this state are not very demanding. The put-in is not too far from Bozeman, as you can see on the road map further down. Not too many |

You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you won't find a large number of other spots. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Madison Dam to Route 84 section is one of them.
