class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Montana is often easier than elsewhere, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners.
| The starting location is a short drive from Kalispell, as you can see on the road map further down. The beautiful scenery of Flathead County and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other places for that. There's camping available near Sunday Creek. This river system has a few good paddling sections and the Headwaters to Stillwater
River section is one of them. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination.

about the general area: You'll meet a lot of folks from Stryker here. Take a hike on the Mount Marston National Recreation Trail; you can have a good hiking adventure along the Elk Mountain National Recreation Trail.
