The starting location is a reasonable drive from Bozeman, as you can see on the road map further down. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Montana is often easier than elsewhere, so you'd
better keep in mind that a lot of the rivers in this state are suitable for beginners. The natural beauty of Park County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. This
section of Yellowstone River in Montana is 4 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. The Gardiner to Miner section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, you can easily run it on an afternoon. There are campgrounds
quite near the river where you can camp. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good rivers.

Briefly about the general area:
A trip to Yellowstone National Park is recommended; Yellowstone River is right by the Pole Gulch Trail. Yellowstone River is a place with many visitors from Emigrant, and hiking along the Sportsman Lake Trail is good fun. At this river you will never have a bad time.
