The scenic beauty of Yellowstone County and the water flowing gracefully down Yellowstone River are reasons enough to come here and paddle.     For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your sleeping bag. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great reasons to come. Lodging is available near the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so if you're visiting here do keep   in mind that quite a few of the sections in this state are pretty easy. Brockway Coulee is a good place to take a look at right next door to Yellowstone River; Pictograph Caves State Park is a fine location to stretch your legs a bit. Yellowstone River is a location that is relatively dry ordinarily. Most of the rain falls throughout May; the driest month of the year is February.
