Nevada whitewater, Colorado River Mohave Clark county, Black Canyon section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS I     30 miles   The Black Canyon section of Colorado River in Nevada is 30 miles long and has been rated as a class I section by American Whitewater. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Las Vegas-Paradise, as you can see on the road map further down. The average Nevada whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit easier to master than those in other states, so don't forget that lots of rivers in this state are good for beginners.     There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The scenic beauty of Nevada and the water flowing gracefully down Colorado River attract people from near and far. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you won't   find a large number of other spots. Briefly about the general area: Burro Wash is in close proximity and always splendid to stop by, and Roaring Rapids is always fun to check out. Lake Mead National Recreation Area is a very tremendous place to pop by close to Colorado River, and Roaring Rapids is a glorious local attraction. This is a really good river. Spend the day on the beach at Special Events Beach since you're here at Colorado River; time spent at South Beach is always great. It is very dry here at Colorado River commonly. August is when you get the most rain here, and June meanwhile is the driest month.
