The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Reno-Sparks, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that many runs in this state are very easy. There are some good hotels near the river, but if you don’t     have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The Verdi to Mayberry Park stretch of Truckee River in Nevada is 8 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-III section of whitewater. Whitewater paddling here in the Northern Sierra Nevada is a great experience. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other rivers. The Verdi to Mayberry Park stretch is one of many paddling stretches in this river system. There's camping available near Truckee River. On this section you do get some distance, suitable for an afternoon trip. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out   on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. Briefly about the general area: On a beautiful day you can stop at Burnt Cedar Beach close to Truckee River, and there are plenty of people from Verdi here. Be careful coming to the Northern Sierra Nevada, you might not ever want to return back home again. Go for a hike on the Mount Rose Trail, and a journey to Incline Beach is always a great idea. This river is always fun. Blue Ravine is near Truckee River and is undeniably a magnificent site to have a look at, and a day on the slopes of Mt. Rose is just what you need.
