  The scenic beauty of New Hampshire and the water flowing gracefully down Ammonoosuc River are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature have people coming
    from far and near. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The put-in location is a short drive from Berlin, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t
get lost. This is not the only paddling section in this river system, there are others too. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The wild scenery of the White Mountains is great. The Bretton Woods to Twin Mountain section of Ammonoosuc River is 7 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. No matter if you're whitewater rafting  
or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good places. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground.

Briefly about the general area:
Gotta ski! Bretton Woods is a great site to do that; you'll meet a lot of people from Twin Mountain here. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about it here in the White Mountains. On a delightful day at Ammonoosuc River you can take a hike along the Mount Rosebrook Trail; unsurprisingly, everyone loves Crawford Notch State Park. This is such a great river. If the weather is pleasant here at Ammonoosuc River, you can go for a hike along the Hale Brook Trail; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Lower Falls.
