CLASS II-III     2.9 miles
  This section of Ammonoosuc River in New Hampshire is 2.9 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Berlin, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The nature scenery of New Hampshire and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. This section is quite short so no need to bring snacks. Whitewater rafting
    and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. A good workout and just being out on the river for
a while are great reasons to come. The river winds through the White Mountains and you get great scenery. There's camping available near Ammonoosuc River. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good places for that around here. This river system is full  
of great paddling sections, the Twin Mountain to Pierce bridge section is just one of them.

Briefly about the general area:
What would winter be without some skiing at Cannon Mountain, and close by you come across the Gale River Trail which is a great hiking trail. This place, the White Mountains, has so much outdoors entertaining things. This is a popular site for people from Bethlehem; the Nubble Mountain Trail is a magnificent hiking trail nearby. This river has it all. A journey to Ammonoosuc River wouldn’t be complete without a tour to nearby Franconia Notch State Park.
