The natural beauty of New Hampshire and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. The average New Hampshire whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many     runs in this state are not easy. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Gilsum Gorge to Shaws Corner stretch is just one of many. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. If you're coming from Keene it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with   the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch is mid length, it's good length for a morning trip.
