New Hampshire whitewater, Baker River

Grafton county, Warren section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS V     3.8 miles
The wonderful Grafton County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The starting location is a short drive from Lebanon, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This section of Baker River in New Hampshire is 3.8 miles long and has been rated as a class V section by American Whitewater. This river system is full of great paddling
sections, the Warren section is just one of them. The average New Hampshire whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that
a large number of rivers in this state are not easy. A bit of exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. This is a pretty short section so
you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. The beauty of the White Mountains is a great plus for this river.

Briefly about the general area:
A tour to Cardigan State Park when you're here at Baker River is a perfect idea, and this is a popular spot for folks from Warren. These mountains rock, just check out all the exciting things to do in the White Mountains. There are good places to discover along the Hurricane Trail, and you can hit the slopes at Tenney Mountain close by. This is such a wonderful river.
