  The starting point is not too far from Berlin, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. The scenic beauty of New Hampshire and the water flowing gracefully down Gale River will make you feel great. No need to look hard for hotels, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This is one of a small number of paddling
    sections in this river system, there are a few others too. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New Hampshire tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here
are not easy. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. This stretch is short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.

What would winter be without some skiing at Cannon Mountain; the Mount Kinsman Trail offers hiking
 
at its best. Gale River is near Franconia Notch State Park which is a pretty place, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Gale River; Jericho Road Trail is a perfect local trail. This river is so perfect. If you're popping by Gale River from Littleton, you won't be the only one. For the period of the warmest time of the year at Gale River temperatures are commonly in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Gale River. The amount of rain that falls at Gale River is close to the national average.
