New Hampshire whitewater, Lovell River Carroll county, Pine Hill Road and Route 25 section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS IV-V     6 miles   This stretch of Lovell River in Carroll County is 6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V section of whitewater. The wonderful New Hampshire scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Lovell River beats anything. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere.     There are some good stretches to paddle in this river system, the Pine Hill Road and Route 25 stretch is one of them. Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. The starting location is a short drive from Laconia, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. Whitewater paddling here in the White Mountains is a great experience. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because   these hotels fill up quick. This section is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, it's good length for a morning trip. Briefly about the general area: Time spent at Allen Albee Beach right next door to Lovell River is always good, and lots of folks from Silver Lake come here. But wait, there's more enjoyable things to do in the White Mountains. Everybody loves White Lake State Park, and you can go for a hike on the Weetamoo Trail. Coming to this river is always a good idea. Abenaki has great slopes and a friendly staff, and on a pretty day you can visit Clows Beach.
