Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in New Hampshire tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. This is a pretty decent length section, good for a one day paddling trip. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Colebrook section is one of them. The scenic beauty of Coos County and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want   to stay the night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Briefly about the general area: Dixville Notch State Park is a good place to pop by on a pretty day, and you'll in all probability meet some folks from Colebrook here. Yeah, come up here to the Green Mountains for a nice time. A day on the slopes of Balsams Wilderness is just what you need. High temperatures at Mohawk River during the warm days of summer are in the 70's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Mohawk River.
