The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New Hampshire are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. If you're coming from Concord it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. | is one of them. This stretch is short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The nature scenery of Grafton County and the water flowing gracefully down Newfound River River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. Briefly about the general area:
Rollins State Park is both wonderful and pretty, and it's in close proximity to Newfound River River; you can go for a hike on the Melton Falls Trail. Be careful coming to the White Mountains, you might not ever want to
go back home again. Here at Newfound River River there are plenty of people from Bristol, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Tenney Mountain is relatively near.
