  This section of Souhegan River is -blank- miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New Hampshire is often more difficult than elsewhere, so don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The nature scenery of Hillsborough County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. The campgrounds here at Souhegan River are pretty good. The Indian Ledges stretch
    is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or
kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. There are plenty of hotels here if you want to spend a night, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

During your spree to Souhegan River you'll meet some people from Merrimack for sure. On a delightful day at Souhegan River you can take a hike along the Old Country Road, and a journey to Wildcat Falls
 
will fill your soul with perfect feelings. This river is always fun. McIntyre is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood; Lowell-Dracut-Tyngsboro State Forest is worth taking a look at. Souhegan River is a pretty wet place generally with a lot of rain. November is the month that gets the most rain, and September is when it's the driest. For the duration of the days of summer here at Souhegan River, high temperatures typically reach the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Souhegan River dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights.
