The Covered Bridge to Route 302 stretch of Wild Ammonoosuc River in New Hampshire is 2 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class III section. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night,
    but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The scenic beauty of New Hampshire and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Briefly about the general area:
During your spree to Wild Ammonoosuc River you'll meet some folks from Woodsville for sure. Take a hike on the Chippewa Trail; hiking along the Black Mountain Trail is glorious fun. The surroundings of this river have so much to offer. The annual precipitation here at Wild Ammonoosuc River is about average. August is the wettest month with most rain while February is ordinarily the driest month. All through the warm months at Wild Ammonoosuc River temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's.
