  The Upper stretch of Winnipesaukee River is 2.1 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The nature scenery of New Hampshire and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. The put-in is not too far from Concord, as you can see on the road map further down. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in New Hampshire are often tougher than in other states, so better not
    forget that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The Upper stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. There are some good hotels near the river, but do book a room before you come
because it is a very popular destination. There's camping available near Winnipesaukee River. The beauty of the White Mountains is a great plus for this river. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you'll find lots of paddling rivers. This is a short paddling stretch so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons  
to come.

Briefly about the general area:
A magnificent place to stop by in the vicinity of Winnipesaukee River is The Gulf, and you'll meet a lot of people from Tilton here. Now, you may believe that's plenty but there's even more amusing things to do here in the White Mountains. Enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Gilford Beach, and Endicott Park Beach is pretty close by if you're in a beach type of mood. This river is so perfect. Winnipesaukee River is a good spot of common rain. Most of the rain falls through May, and the driest month of the year is January. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Winnipesaukee River.
