CLASS III-IV     1.25 miles
  This stretch of Winnipesaukee River in Belknap / Merrimack County is 1.25 miles long and it is classified as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in New Hampshire is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The wonderful Belknap / Merrimack County scenery
    and the water flowing gracefully down Winnipesaukee River beats anything. If you're coming from Concord it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that.
No need to look hard for hotels, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. The wild scenery of the White Mountains is great. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad  
you came. This is an extremely short section so no need to bring snacks.

Briefly about the general area:
Winnipesaukee River is in the neighborhood of Wellington State Beach which is a scenic spot. Ragged Mountain has nice slopes and a friendly staff; nothing beats kicking back at Endicott Park Beach. This river is a great place to visit. You're sure to stumble upon some cheerful folks from Franklin here, and Rollins State Park is a splendid place to stretch your legs a bit. Summertime highs at Winnipesaukee River frequently tend to be in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's.
