  The scenic beauty of New Jersey and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. If you're coming from Trenton-Ewing it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, as you can see on the road map further down. The High Bridge to confluence with North Branch of Raritan section of Raritan River - South Branch in Hunterdon Somerset County is 27 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-II section. You can enjoy this
    stretch more if you take your time, so pack your camp stove. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you'll find a large number of good rivers. There are many
good hotels to choose from, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the High Bridge to confluence with North Branch of Raritan section is just one of them. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so don't forget  
that rivers in this state are not as hard as elsewhere. A bit of exercise and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more.

Summer at Raritan River - South Branch comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and the overnight is a tad cooler of course, frequently in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; during the dark hours in the winter at Raritan River - South Branch temperatures drop to the 10's.
