this is an area with not too many other places for that. The campgrounds here at San Francisco River are pretty good. The starting point is not too far from Silver City, as you can see on the road map further down.

about the general area: The Hogan Cabin Trail offers hiking at its best, and you'll probably meet some people from Glenwood here. Man, is there a lot of enjoyable stuff to do in the San Francisco Mountains. San Francisco
River is right by the Red Canyon Trail. Summertime highs at San Francisco River regularly tend to be in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's.
