New Mexico whitewater, San Juan River

San Juan county, Navajo Dam to Four Corners section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II     50 miles

The beautiful scenery of New Mexico and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. San Juan River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Navajo Dam to Four Corners section is the only one. There arenít any hotels right nearby
but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you donít have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, so it looks like you will
be camping out. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. The put-in location is a short drive from Farmington, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The beautiful Mesa Verde scenery is an added bonus.
